Henry defeats Robert Curthose and takes Normandy. Edgar is captured with the duke.
Edgar had sided with Robert again. He was taken at Tinchebray on 28 September 1106 and pardoned and released by Henry. Robert stayed in custody for the rest of his life. William of Malmesbury, writing around 1125, says Edgar was still living quietly in the country; nothing is heard of him after that.
