Robert de Comines is burned at Durham

The new Norman earl of Northumbria dies with his men in a single night.

What the record says

Comines ignored warnings and entered Durham with several hundred men. The Northumbrians killed them and burned the bishop’s house over the earl. Edgar was proclaimed at York within weeks.
